Cape Town's Atlantis Dunes will once again become a proving ground for endurance athletes when Red Bull Dune Dusters returns on 21 February, offering runners a race that replaces predictable surfaces with shifting sand and relentless climbs.
The event, hosted just outside the city, transforms what appears to be a short distance into a demanding physical and mental challenge.
Unlike traditional road or trail races, competitors face unstable terrain throughout, requiring balance, strength and constant adaptation with every stride.
