Rand Water says full recovery of their systems following the completion of their planned maintenance, is expected before the high demand period in August.
The planned maintenance is scheduled to begin this Thursday and continue until the end of July.
The work will result in low water pressure and temporary water outages in some parts of Johannesburg, Tshwane and Ekurhuleni.
Rand Water CEO Sipho Mosai, As soon as we start closing off the system will still need to drain and even after we announce that we completed our maintenance work, some households and municipalities will take time to recover. If we finish early July, we will dedicate it to recovery. I dont mean the whole month. But we believe the full recovery will come just in time for August high demand period.
