The Premier Alan Winde of the Western Cape has called for citizens to embrace peace and lawfulness during demonstrations in a crucial statement ahead of anticipated national protests, Cape town Etc reports.
Addressing concerns about escalating tensions, Winde emphasised the importance of upholding dignity and kindness in all actions, reminding every South African of their responsibility to foster a non-violent environment.
During a Joint Operations Centre JOC meeting convened under the auspices of the Provincial Disaster Management Centre PDMC, Premier Winde alongside various stakeholders, including municipal representatives and law enforcement from the South African Police Service SAPS and South African National Defence Force SANDF, discussed strategies to manage the upcoming protests effectively.
