Business operators who were allegedly found in possession of cigarettes worth over R7m around Colesberg, in the Northern Cape have been issued with a 7-day notice to provide original documentation for the goods.
The cigarettes were discovered during the inter Provincial Cross Border operation comprising of the police from Northern Cape , Western Cape, Eastern Cape and Free State.
Police Spokesperson Timothy Sam says they also discovered a consignment of counterfeit cigarettes valued at approximately R2.5m, which was seized along with a truck.
