Police officers who have died in the line of duty in the last twelve months will be remembered at the National Police Commemoration Day on Sunday, at the Union Buildings in Pretoria.
The Police and Prison Civil Rights Union Popcru says it is disheartening that families of fallen heroes and heroines are paraded annually before the public, with minimal change to their conditions.
Popcru spokesperson Richard Mamabolo says its members demand urgent and practical steps to reduce police killings.
