A female runner has embarked on a more than 500km race from Pretoria to Thohoyandou, Limpopo, against gender-based violence .
Polokwane-based runner Joyce Netshitenzhe says her solo run is aimed at starting dialogue in communities on the effects of the violence . She is using the R101 road and is expected to reach Thohoyandou via Giyani towards the end of this month.
Netshitenzhe says shes striving for safer communities .
