The Volvo EX30 Cross Country has become the first fully electric vehicle BEV to successfully ascend Sani Pass, Volvo Car South Africa VCSA announced in a statement on Thursday 30 October.
The Sani Pass is one of South Africa's most iconic and demanding mountain routes. Its a 9km steep and winding gravel road through the Drakensberg Mountains, west of KwaZulu-Natal. It stretches from Underberg town in South Africa to Mokhotlong in Lesotho.
Volvo EX30 Cross Country conquers Sani PassAccording to VCSA, the EX30 Cross Country climbed 1,307 metres from the Premier Resort Sani Pass, located 1,566 metres above sea level and just below the pass, to the summit at 2,873 metres above sea level.
