The Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Communications and Digital Technologies, Khusela Diko, has reached out to the Minister of Communications and Digital Technologies, Solly Malatsi, requesting urgent clarification on allegations concerning his dealings with Starlink, the satellite internet service provider.
This request follows troubling reports published by News24, which detailed an interview conducted on 28 June 2026 with then Minister of Agriculture, John Steenhuisen. During that interview, claims surfaced regarding Resolve Communications perceived role in facilitating discussions between government officials and private-sector clients, including Starlink.
Diko's correspondence has highlighted the seriousness of these allegations, which, while unproven, evoke a disconcerting echo of South Africa's past.
