Paga Founder and Group CEO, Tayo Oviosu, has reassured Nigerians that the company's newly announced partnership with PayPal is designed to improve access, resolve user concerns, and create a more reliable pathway into global digital commerce.
Speaking after the announcement, Oviosu said the partnership is fundamentally about customers and simplifying how Nigerians send, receive, and manage money. He noted that since the integration was announced, the response has been marked by strong interest and emotional reactions, which he described as understandable given what PayPal represents for many Nigerians.
According to Oviosu, the partnership marks a major milestone, as it is the first time the world's largest payments and commerce ecosystem has been fully opened to Nigerians through a locally regulated platform. With the integration, users can now receive funds on PayPal and withdraw directly into Naira via Paga, eliminating the need for informal workarounds that previously limited participation in global commerce.
