Police say their fight against the scourge of Gender-Based Violence and Femicide is yielding results.
In August, which is observed annually as Womens Month, 2284 suspects were arrested for sexually related offences, including rape, sexual assault, abduction, and attempted rape.
Police say theres also been some notable convictions, including this weeks sentencing of Mozambican national Phethe Simiao to two life terms for the rape and murder of 6-year-old Amantle Semao in Soweto.
