The City of Ekurhuleni s Disaster and Emergency Management Services says no casualties or injuries have been reported at the OR Tambo International Airport.
This after severe thunderstorms accompanied heavy rains late Friday evening and into the early hours of Saturday morning.
The rains caused floods in some parts on the airports terminals. Traffic around the airport was also severely affected as sections of the drop-off and pick-up areas as well as parts of the parking lot were inaccessible.
