Over 200 suspects across the five districts in the Northern Cape have been arrested for various crimes during Operation Shanela .
The operation resulted in the confiscation of dangerous weapons, drugs, alcohol and cash suspected to be the proceeds of crime.
Provincial Police Spokesperson, Molefi Shemane, says compliance inspections were conducted on farms, mines, and informal businesses, which led to the closure of 20 unlicensed liquor outlets.
