The Nigeria Women's Football League, NWFL, has imposed a N2.5 million fine on Ibom Angels for crowd violence and assault against Bayelsa Queens players and officials.
The league body said supporters of Ibom Angels unlawfully invaded the pitch at the conclusion of the match and physically attacked players and officials of Bayelsa Queens at the Uyo Township Stadium on Wednesday.
The league described the incident as a grave violation of its regulations and a threat to the principles of fair play and player safety.
