Having completed his move from Liverpool to Al-Hilal Saudi, Darwin Nunez has penned a farewell message to Liverpool fans. Softfotball reported how Nunez was unveiled in Saudi Arabia.
Nunez has joined up with Al-Hilal for preseason in Germany after completing his big money move. He was unveiled graciously by the club as they welcomed him to the club.
Having won the Premier League title with Liverpool and scored 40 goals for the Reds, Nunez penned an emotional farewell. The Uruguayan was deemed to be sold as Arne Slot feels Nunez is not impactful enough for the club.
Nunez did score a couple of important goals for the Reds last season. The two goals against Brentford to help the team get a win will come to mind of most Liverpool fans.
Now a Blue, Nunez took time to say goodbye to the Reds. The Liverpool website showed what Nunez wrote on his Instagram handle. He wrote:
Nunez will now look to rediscover the form he had at Benfica that made an elite European striker. Al-Hilal are looking to win the Saudi league again after Al-Ittihad displaced them last season.
They will also look to win the Asia Champions League as Al Ahli Saudi won the trophy last season. Nunez will need to bang goals for Al-Hilal to become a historic player for the club.
