North West Police Uncover Drugs Worth Millions

Six people were arrested and drugs worth millions of rands were discovered by police at a laboratory in Makapanstad in the North West.

According to spokesperson for the Hawks Colonel Katlego Mogale, a member of the Western Cape Serious Organised Crime Investigation as well as the counter-narcotics and gangs unit in the same province were following up on information related to a suspect in a different case when they found the drug manufacturing facility.

Upon the Hawks arrival, six suspects aged between 44 and 55 were found actively involved in the manufacturing of mandrax tablets. Large quantities of finished products as well as powder were found on the scene. All six were arrested. Drug press, crusher machine scales and packaging bags were seized. The six suspects will appear in court soon on charges of manufacturing of drugs.
