Nkosana Kenneth Makate, whose Please Call Me idea has earned him hundreds of millions of rand from mobile operator Vodacom, has agreed to defer 40 the payout until he resolves a legal dispute with his former funders, MyBroadBand reported on Monday 17 November.
Black Rock Mining resurfaced last week with a claim to 40 of the settlement, which is estimated to range from around R350 million to as much as R748 million.
Black Rock was part of a 2011 agreement to fund Makates case against Vodacom. However, Makate and his lawyers, Stemela Lubbe Inc., say the agreement was cancelled and the company is therefore not entitled to a share of the settlement.
