A Nigerian government delegation, led by the countrys Vice President, Kashim Shettima, has arrived in the United Kingdom. It will accompany the body of Nigerias former President, Muhammadu Buhari back to the country for a burial.
President Buhari died at a hospital in London at the age of 82. The Nigerian government says the former President will be accorded full state honours in recognition of his service to the country.
He will be buried in his home town of Daura, in Katsina state, in the countrys northwest region.
Nigerias President, Bola Tinubu formally announced the death of his predecessor in a statement.
