United Nigeria Airlines, owned by aviation mogul Obiora Okonkwo, has signed an agreement with U.S.-based Southwest Airlines to acquire six Boeing 737-800 aircraft. The deal, concluded at Southwests Dallas headquarters, is a significant step in the carriers plan to grow its fleet.
United Nigeria Airlines is putting itself in a position to increase service on domestic, regional, and international routes with the purchase of the 737-800s. The airline said the new aircraft will help increase capacity, lower operating costs, and support Nigerias broader aviation development goals.
