A new video of the Deputy Mayor of the Bitou Municipality in Plettenberg Bay allegedly firing a gun, shows her handing the weapon to her bodyguard afterwards. The initial video showed Councillor Nokuzola Kolwapi shooting into the air to celebrate her sons homecoming ceremony in KwaNokuthula this weekend following his initiation.
In a statement, Kolwapi said no firearm was present and that it was a toy gun.
Bitou Municipalitys Spokesperson, Andile Namntu, has confirmed that the man seen in the video, is from law enforcement, who is also Kolwapis protector and driver.
