New South African Revenue Service SARS Commissioner, Dr Ngobani Johnstone Makhubu, says he plans to accelerate much of the work initiated by his predecessor, Edward Kieswetter.
This includes looking at ways to expand the tax base, zoning in on the illicit economy and continuing the work to extra tax debt owed to SARS.
Makhubu says engaging with industry, particularly tax practitioners, will be a key aim for him as they serve a critical role in bridging between taxpayers and SARS.
