Parenting a teenager is often described as one of life's most fulfilling yet demanding experiences. To help ease the burden on parents navigating the complex terrain of adolescent behavioural issues, the South African Depression and Anxiety Group SADAG is proud to introduce a new Online Mental Health Support Group for Parents of Teenagers with Behavioural Issues.

This dedicated support group offers a safe, understanding, and practical space for parents to connect with others facing similar challenges. It aims to provide not only emotional relief but also actionable strategies to help parents manage the difficulties that come with raising teenagers today.

Many parents feel overwhelmed and frustrated by their teenager's behaviour, says Tselane, the SADAG Support Group Leader. I believe this group will create a space for parents to better understand their children through the experiences and insights shared by others. It's also a chance to learn new approaches to supporting both their teenagers and themselves.

The emotional, physical, and mental toll of parenting a teenager with behavioural difficulties can be intense. Everyday routines can become battlegrounds, and decision-making can feel draining. Over time, the pressure can erode a parent's confidence, leaving them isolated and unsure of how to move forward.

This group is about letting go of the constant worry, self-doubt, and exhaustion, Tselane adds. It's a space to meet others who've faced the shouting, the silence, and the sleepless nights. Through shared experiences and practical tips, many parents may finally feel that they are not alone.
