Three suspects were apprehended following the swift actions of a neighbourhood watch in Cape Town, Cape town Etc reports
The incident unfolded on Friday afternoon when neighbourhood watch patrollers identified a suspicious vehicle manoeuvring around parking areas in Milnerton.
JP Smith, the Mayco member for Safety and Security, praised the patrollers for their sharp instincts that ultimately thwarted a potential crime spree.
The suspects were observed making their way into Table View, where they attempted to unlawfully access two parked vehicles-a Hyundai Venue and a Ford EcoSport. After successfully entering the vehicles, the thieves made their getaway in a Toyota Starlet, which was later discovered to have cloned registration plates.
