A delegation from the National Council of Provinces NCOP is meeting with KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Lt. Gen. Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi in Durban.
The visit, according to members of the NCOP, aims to strengthen the work of the police and identify the challenges facing law enforcement officers.
The discussions are expected to focus on resources, crime trends, and other topics. However, the delegation says it wont discuss the allegations raised by Mkhwanazi last month.
Mkhwanazi alleged that criminal syndicates had infiltrated sectors of the criminal justice system.
The leader of the delegation, Mzamo Billy says the meeting was arranged before General Mkhwanazi made the allegations.
