The Minister of Information and Communication Technology, Emma Theofelus, has announced that Namibia will roll out electronic signatures in February 2026 under the Electronic Transactions Act of 2019.

Speaking at the Standard Bank Anti-Financial Crime Conference in Windhoek on Thursday, Theofelus said the new system will give electronic signatures the same legal status as handwritten ones, paving the way for secure, efficient, and legally binding digital transactions in the country.
