AJ Auxerre confirmed the arrival of Danny Namaso on Sunday, August 17, 2025, bringing to an end, rumors linking him with a move to various club - including Birmingham City.
The Cameroonian forward who played 106 matches for FC Porto will wear the number 19 for his new club.
The French Ligue 1 will provide a fresh opportunity for the man who played in 15 European competitions, and boasts a Portuguese league title as well as two domestic cup triumphs.
A new boost for AJA! The club is delighted to announce the arrival of Danny Namaso, joining on loan with an option to buy. The 24-year-old striker comes from FC Porto and will wear the number 19, AJ Auxerre announced.
Namaso is Reading born and came through the ranks with the Royals, featuring regularly as a teenager in the Championship between 2018 and 2020 before he joined Porto and spent two seasons playing - and scoring regularly - for the clubs B team in Portugals second tier.
Striker Namaso, who featured in the Club World Cup this summer in the USA, represented England at five different age levels between under 16s and under 20s, before he decided to switch international allegiances and in March of this year he earned his first two caps for Cameroon.
The move to Auxerre will provide him with more game time ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
