All eleven high schools from Motherwell township in Gqeberha in the Eastern Cape have achieved above 80 as a pass rate for the 2025 matric results.
The top achieving school was Soqhayisa Senior Secondary School, achieving a 99,6 pass rate.
The Motherwell area is faced with a high crime rate which forces schools to upgrade security and be extra cautious during classes, which affects schooling in these areas.
