Springbok lock Franco Mostert has been cleared to be selected for Saturdays test match against Ireland in Dublin. The red card he received against Italy in Turin on Saturday has been rescinded, following a lengthy disciplinary process that started on Tuesday.
It will also be expunged from Mosterts disciplinary record.
The ruling that the incident did not meet the Red Card threshold exposes the glaring inconsistencies in applying the laws regarding head contact.
