Mkhwanazi Suspends Constable Allegedly Involved With Political Party

KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi has ordered the district commissioner of the King Cetshwayo region to immediately withdraw a constable from all police operations pending an investigation into his alleged involvement in politics.

The constable from the Ntambanana Police Station was allegedly seen wearing clothes of a political party and actively involving himself in activities of the party.

Provincial police spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda confirms that according to the South African Police Service Act, it is contrary for an officer to be involved in politics.
