Mitchells Plain athletes are being celebrated: Two young sporting standouts, gymnast Meeka Mabee and sprinter Lamicah Adamson delivered performances that earned praise across the community, reports Cape town Etc .
In December 2025, Mabee, from Paradigm Gymnastics in Tafelsig and Mondale High School, finished first at the Women's Artistic Gymnastics national championship with an all-around score of 35.900, built on strong marks on beam, bars, floor and vault.
Adamson recently turned heads in Pretoria after clocking 23.90 seconds in the U15 200m, a run Ricardo Mackenzie described as a historic performance . He praised the support around her, saying, Mitchells Plain showed up , and thanked her parents and family for their role in her success. See Lamicahs message to youth below:
