The Motor Industry Staff Association MISA says it supports Deputy President Paul Mashatile's call for workers to be assisted in adapting to artificial intelligence AI.
Mashatile has challenged labour federations to develop a Digital Workers' Charter, warning that while AI can improve efficiency, it also requires new skills and could significantly reshape the labour market.
MISA spokesperson Phakamile Hlubi-Majola says the union will engage with employers to prioritise retraining and upskilling initiatives.
