Michelin has released the first list of hotels on the companys new hospitality ranking system. The well-known culinary rating organisation announced it would extend its ranking system to hotels last year .

The first hotels to be rated by Michelin are all in France, and there are plans to extend to the rest of the globe.

Michelins hotel rating system, similar to its restaurant rating, assigns a One Key rating for special hotels, a Two Key rank for exceptional hotels and a Three Key benchmark for the very best hotels. The list of hotels is a culmination of countless hours of evaluation by our team of experts, according to the company.

The list consists of 24 Three Key hotels, 38 Two Key hotels and 127 One Key hotels.

The Three Key hotels include the Htel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes, a 19th-century historic hotel in a secluded pine forest overlooking the sea. Another hotel on the Three Key list is the Ritz Paris, founded by Csar Ritz. The Ritz has hosted legendary guests throughout its history, including Chopin, Proustand Coco Chanel.
