Meta plans to begin testing new subscription offerings that provide users with access to exclusive features and expanded AI capabilities across Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp, the company said.
The subscriptions, expected to roll out in the coming months, will offer premium tools aimed at productivity, creativity, and enhanced control over how users interact and share content. Meta said the core experience on its apps will remain free, while paid tiers will unlock additional features that vary by platform.
As part of the initiative, Meta plans to scale Manus, an AI agent it recently acquired, integrating it into Meta products while also offering standalone subscriptions for businesses. The company is also preparing paid tiers for AI-powered features such as Vibes, its short-form AI video creation tool, which would move from fully free access to a freemium model.
