matsatsantsa part ways with hunt

SuperSport Uniteds patience with Gavin Hunt has finally run out after the two parties agreed to go their separate ways on Friday.

Hunt etched his name into South African footballs annals after guiding Matsatsantsa to three successive top-flight titles during his first stint at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium.

However, the 60-year-old failed to reach those lofty heights following his return to the club in July 2022, although he had to manage one of the smallest squads in the Betway Premiership.

His cause wasnt helped by SuperSport continually selling their best players during his two-and-a-half year stint and he departs with the team sitting second from bottom in the league, one point adrift of safety with nine matches left to play in the season.

Hunts final game in charge was a 3-1 defeat to TS Galaxy on March 11 and the Tshwane giants had only won one of their nine games since the turn of the year.
