Malawian President Peter Mutharika has had a telephonic call with his predecessor Lazarus Chakwera.

The former President had complained about the arrests of a number of officials who used to work with him, but Mutharika says law enforcement agencies are doing their job and there is no interference.

The call was initiated by former President Chakwera who expressed concern over the law enforcement actions in Malawi linking them to political arrests.
