A major new retail chapter has officially begun in Cape Town after Flanagan Gerard Property Group and GrandWest, a subsidiary of Sun International, confirmed the start of construction on the R650-million GrandWest Mall development .
The project, located within the established GrandWest entertainment precinct, is set to introduce a 22 000 m convenience shopping centre designed to expand the area's retail offering while complementing its existing entertainment and leisure facilities, as reported by MoneyWeb .
A sod-turning ceremony marked the formal launch of construction, following the successful transfer of land into a joint venture between Flanagan Gerard 90 and GrandWest 10, an agreement finalised earlier this year.
