A 35-year-old Limpopo entrepreneur has unearthed a hidden opportunity in the yoghurt industry.

Edward Kgarose, who is from Molepo, outside Polokwane, is crafting a unique sweet potato-flavoured drinking yoghurt. He launched the factory for his business in 2016.

Kgaroses products are sold in selected supermarkets in the province. He says he plans to expand his business.

"I want to see the product available nationally and exported because they are closed from international countries. I receive calls from countries like Nigeria, Uganda and Canada saying they need the product because they see it as something new, unique and very healthy," says Kgarose.

"Everyone is amazed on how one can make yoghurt out of sweet potatoes," he adds.
