The death toll in the catastraphic Limpopo floods has risen to 17. Incidents of drowning continue to emerge from various parts of the province, in some incidents, the searches to retrieve the bodies are underway.
The victims were swept away by flooding waters, while in some incidents children drowned in excavated pits filled with rain water.
Disaster management spokesperson Tsakani Baloyi says Human Settlements MEC Basikopo Makamu is saddened by the increasing number of deaths.
