The Road Traffic Management Corporation RTMC has revealed that the percentage of people who pass the learner drivers test has been reduced from 68 to 40, due to the computerised learner licence testing system.
RTMC spokesperson Simon Zwane says the 2021 introduction of the system across the country, is showing promising signs of reducing the number of learner licences issued fraudulently. According to Zwane some officials in the past fraudulently assisted learners with answers.
The RTMC has noticed encouraging signs since the introduction of computerised learner licence testing systems in various centres across the country. These systems are assisting to minimise fraud and corruption and ensure that only competent drivers pass the test. Since the introduction of the system, the number of people passing the test have come down from 68 to 40, an indication that examiners are no longer able to manipulate the system.
