The South African National Association for Special Education SANASE says there is a big chance that special needs schools in KwaZulu-Natal might not operate next year. This is due to unresolved funding, staffing and infrastructure challenges.

In its recent meeting, SANASE highlighted the dire state of special needs schools in the province.

The association says that despite commitments made by the provincial government, no action has been taken to resolve these issues.
