Early morning travellers passing through Cape Town's main aviation hub encountered an unusual start to the day after a power disruption forced the airport to switch to generator supply this morning, Cape town Etc reports.
In a public notice shared by Cape Town International Airport via social media, airport management confirmed the facility had moved onto backup power while technicians worked to restore electricity to the broader network.
Please be advised that Cape Town International Airport is currently running on generator power due to a power outage. There is minimal operational impact, and our airport staff will be available to assist where needed. We apologise for any inconvenience caused, the airport said.
