Khayelitsha fire tore through the Tsepe Tsepe informal settlement on Sunday, destroying 177 structures and leaving 377 people displaced, the City of Cape Town said after completing an initial damage assessment, reports Cape town Etc .
According to Voice of the Cape Teams from the City's Disaster Risk Management Centre and the Informal Settlements Management Branch were on site to register affected households and co-ordinate immediate relief.
The City's Informal Settlements Management Branch is on site and has approached National Human Settlements to support rebuilding efforts, said DRMC spokesperson Charlotte Powell.
