Kenya Airways KQ plans to expand its fleet with up to 60 aircraft by 2035. The announcement was made during the KQ Aviation Media Lab in Mombasa at the end of May and reported by the Kenya Association of Travel Agents .
The expansion is expected to nearly triple the airlines current fleet with an initial target of 59 to 60 aircraft across the group. The airline is targeting a mix of long, medium and short-haul aircraft as part of its growth strategy.
Kenya Airways Group Managing Director and CEO George Kamal reportedly said the expansion will require between US1,2 billion and US2 billion in investment.
