The Kenyan government has reaffirmed its commitment to youth empowerment, entrepreneurship, and job creation through a series of initiatives aimed at fostering economic opportunities and digital skills development.

On January 20, 2026, President H.E. Dr. William Ruto and Deputy President H.E. Prof. Kithure Kindiki officially launched the NYOTA Project, providing KSh 258.4 million in business capital support to 10,337 young entrepreneurs from Nairobi, Kiambu, and Kajiado Counties. The launch took place at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, with Cabinet Secretaries, Governors, Principal Secretaries, and other key stakeholders in attendance.

The NYOTA Project is designed to create employment, enhance income generation, and promote savings among Kenya's youth population. Alongside financial support, the government has rolled out several digital programs for entrepreneurship and job creation, including initiatives in the Business Process Outsourcing BPO sector, which has already created over 300,000 jobs.
