SABC News has reliably learnt that suspended Ekurhuleni Metro Police Deputy Chief, Julius Mkhwanazi, has been arrested on charges of fraud, corruption, and defeating the ends of justice.
Mkhwanazi was arrested by the SAPS Madlanga Task Team early on Saturday morning at his home.
Mkhwanazi has spent several days testifying before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry about his dealings with alleged criminal cartel member, Vusimuzi Cat Matlala.
