Residents of Johannesburg will be paying more for electricity and other services as from today.

City Power customers will see an across the board increase of 12.4 for electricity in line with the Citys approved tariffs for the 2025/26 financial year.

However, City Power says the increases will vary per customer category based on usage and tariff structure.

The power utility says customers on the Residential Prepaid High tariff will see an average increase of over 11 and the service fee will remain unchanged at R200.

City Power spokesperson Isaac Mangena says poor and low-income households will be cushioned from paying increased services .
