The Judicial Commission of Inquiry into criminality, political interference and corruption in the criminal justice system, otherwise known as the Madlanga Commission, has resumed its public hearings on 26 January.
The Presidency confirmed on 17 December last year that the interim report of the Madlanga Commission was handed over to President Cyril Ramaphosa, but it will not be made public. Starting on 26 January 2026, the commission continues where it left off in December 2025, hearing evidence from persons implicated in the allegations made by Lieutenant-General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi and the many other witnesses last year.
Since the Madlanga Commission began on 17 September, SABC News has covered it extensively, creating a highlights tool featuring over 200 clips of witness testimonies.
