South Africa pulled off a brilliant chase in Raipur, beating India by four wickets with four balls to level the series 1-1. Chasing a huge 359, Aiden Markram's 110 kept the Proteas strongly in the hunt despite losing a few wickets.
India had earlier posted 358/5 on the back of centuries from Virat Kohli 102 and Ruturaj Gaikwad 105, with KL Rahul adding an unbeaten 66. But dew made conditions progressively tougher for Indian bowlers as South Africa capitalised.
The chase began poorly with Quinton de Kock falling early to Arshdeep Singh, but Markram and Temba Bavuma stabilised the innings with a 101-run stand. Once Markram crossed fifty, he accelerated his innings, capitalizing on the dropped opportunity from Jaiswal that turned into six.
