The Independent Electoral Commission IEC says it is sharpening its tools to improve the voting experience ahead of next years Local Government Elections .
While 2025 was not an election year, the IEC says it focused on legislative reforms and preparations for polls expected to be highly contested.
Earlier this year, the commission confirmed that electronic voting will not be implemented in the 2026 local elections, pending further public consultation.
