The Royal Majestic Hotel, previously the Hyatt Regency in Rosebank, Johannesburg, has reopened after closing during the 2020 pandemic. The reopening in Rosebank marks the start of an ambitious expansion strategy, with the group planning to roll out the Royal Majestic brand across additional properties in South Africa.
The hotel is owned by the Bin Otaiba Group, which owns several other properties across the country, including the Hilton Hotel in Durban, Radisson Blu Le Vendome in Cape Town and Park Inn Sandton. The hotels are currently closed except the Hilton, which reopened last year due to pressure from the local municipality, according to The Mail Guardian .
According to Tana Alma Lancaster , Royal Majestic Head of Marketing and Owner of BrndHaus, plans are now under way to rebrand the Hilton and Park Inn under the Royal Majestic brand as part of the groups expansion plans.
