Hundreds of undocumented migrants have been left stranded outside a former Home Affairs repatriation centre in Epping, Cape town Etc reports.
Following the 30 June deadline protests last week, the open field near the Epping facility has turned into a makeshift shelter for exhausted men, women and children after the site was reportedly shut down, leaving many with nowhere to go.
According to EWN , most of those affected are believed to be Zimbabwean and Malawian nationals who had previously been working on farms outside Cape Town. Many arrived carrying bags, blankets and small children, uncertain about what would happen next after buses transporting migrants to Musina failed to accommodate everyone.
